Can I be a music teacher with a degree in music therapy?

I would like to be either a music teacher or a music therapist eventually. I know that if I get a bachelor’s in music education, I’d have to get a master’s in order to be a music therapist, but I would like to know if I could be a music teacher with a degree in music therapy?

there is a difference between the basics of music and the basics of music therapy. two are different genres of study. well, this is true that since you know music technically, you will be able to learn the basics of music therapy faster than average learners.

Yes. Your state or school district should have or refer you to an Alternative Certification Program. This allows college graduates without education degrees to get the training to become teachers.
